Hi guys! Long time no write! Life has a pesky way of getting in the way of blogging but I haven't gone anywhere yet. I'm just trying to chill and let it be FUN again, which it is. And I still get to show you new collections and stuff so things are good.

Tonight I have a collection from Alter Ego to show you called Be A Pirate Collection. AND a 20% off coupon code!!!

Alter Ego Bath and Body
Be a Pirate Collection

Continued after the jump...

So this collection comes with a little story about Pirate Booty!

The damsel's father knew no man can resist his beautiful daughter so he hired a bodyguard to protect her.  Sadly, Papa didn't know the thug he hired was the King Of Pirate's right hand man and now Papa’s princess is a Royal Prisoner Of Love!

This one is a royal blue-leaning purple with a nice linear holo. The formula was smooth and easy and I had no issues. I used 2 coats and one coat of She Shines Top Coat.

---------------------------------------------------------

After this gal got her freedom she ran to the treasury, scooping up as much as she could.  Now She's Got The Booty to guarantee their safe passage home!

This one is a yellow-green/chartreuse crelly formula full of shimmer and holo dust. I used 2 coats of this one because it was a tad thicker than the others and had a tiny bit of visible nail line but 3 light coats instead should take care of that. I used one coat of She Shines Top Coat to finish it off.

----------------------------------------------------------------

She stayed behind to make sure her BFF got off the pirate's boat and sadly, she was caught.  No fear, it's a way off the floating hell, and since she may survive, she makes sure she Rocks The Plank in style!  She has to appear subdued and scared but when she steps out she glistens in the sun, letting all the colors of her true self blind the pirates as she gracefully dives into the ocean!

This one a gorgeous warm, chocolate brown jelly/crelly with a scattered holo. It builds nicely and has good formula and application - I used 3 light coats and one coat of She Shines Top Coat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

She lurks in the shadows of the armory, waiting for her chance.  As the jailer passes by, cell keys jingling, our Swashbuckler leaps out, her sword flashing in the light of the lantern!  She makes sure he won't be rousing to consciousness any time soon then rushes into the brig save her BFF from being sold to the King of Pirates!
This one is a very warm, rich burnished copper shimmer that makes is SO glowy. I used 3 light coats and one coat of She Shines Top Coat and the formula and application were great. I actually thought this one was going to go on streaky but there wasn't even a SIGN of a streak!

----------------------------------------------------------------

Woohoo!  Our fearless heroine survived and while she waits for help has become the most stunning, vibrant and colorful Beachcomber her saviors will ever see!  She spends her time wading in the beautiful blue waters as she waits for them to rescue her!
This one is another I thought would be streaky but NOPE! It's an aqua blue shimmer with flashes of green in certain lights, sparkly and shimmery just like the sea. No issues at all with formula or application. I used 3 light coats and one coat of She Shines Top Coat. There is still some visible nail line on me but I do have a very visible nail line to start with and I used light coats.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, here's the deal with Alter Ego. Cynthia is one of the dearest, sweetest people you will ever meet. I've been friends with her for several years and I've SO enjoyed meeting up with her a couple of times - and can't wait to see her again in July for my birthday! But I wasn't a huge fan of her old formula. However, she has switched to using mainstream bases for all her polishes and the difference is ASTOUNDING. They no longer dry matte (which I never minded really) and they are so much easier to apply!

She's also changed her name and website because, in addition to polish, she offers her own line of hot pressed soap, lip balms, cuticle balms, etc. She's now known as Alter Ego Body Care Products.

I received a lovely hot pressed soap also, but I have to decline to review that here because the scent is one that my uber-sensitive schnoz can't handle- Spa Tonic. I will have to try one of the other scents later though and I'll pop back and give a review of it for you.

So what are your favorites? Have you tried her NEW formula? My favorite was probably Rocks the Plank, because you know I'm a brown-lover.

These are all available now at the Alter Ego Body Care Products Shop here.

She Shines Top Coat: $7.00
Full Sized Polishes: $9.00
Mini Sized Polishes: $4.50
Hot Process Soap Bars: $3.00

And...there are two sizes offered! These are what they look like...

**ANNNNNDDDDD!!! There's a COUPON CODE for 20% OFF: THE POINTLESS CAFE (spaces required)

***I do not receive a percentages of sales through this coupon...or any other compensation it's just there for YOU!
